How We're Protecting Owners and Staff
In an effort to minimize contact and potential exposure as we all deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, Capital Animal Hospital will be taking the following steps to try to keep our pet owners and staff safe:
- We will limit our waiting room to only one client at a time. We will clean the waiting room between clients.
- Surgery drop-offs: Drop off will be between 8:00-8:30AM. Please remain in your car. A member of our staff will come to your car. They will go over the surgical consent form with you. The staff member will bring your pet into the hospital. You may walk your pet to the front door. Remember to bring all medications that your pet currently takes.
- Two-week recheck examinations: We are going to try to do these appointments remotely. We are asking that if you feel your pet is doing well and as you expect, please submit via text, an image of your pet’s incision to Dr. Suber (803-413-5222) and a video of your pet walking. Dr. Suber will then be in contact with you to discuss modifications to the post-op restrictions and the plan for the next four weeks. If you feel your pet in not progressing as you anticipated, we want to see you and your pet
- Surgical consultations: Upon arrival to our parking lot, please remain in your car. A member of our staff will come to greet you and verify your information. If no one comes to your car, we may be busy helping some one else on the phone or helping out in the hospital. Please call our office (803-722-1738) to let us know that you are in the parking lot. Know that the waiting room and your exam room will be cleaned prior to your arrival and after you leave.
- Recheck x-ray appointments: Upon arrival to our parking lot, please remain in your car.
- Discharges: We are going to try and be flexible to your schedule. We may have to adjust schedules based on our goal to only have one client in the waiting room at a time. Dr. Suber will call you the day of discharge between 8:00-8:30AM. We will set up a discharge time then. When you arrive for discharge, please remain in your car. A member of our staff will come to greet you. If no one comes to your car, we may be busy helping some one else on the phone or helping out in the hospital. Please call our office (803-722-1738) to let us know that you are in the parking lot. Once you come into the building, we will go over the home care instructions and medications with you. We appreciate your patience through this trying time. Our goal is to get your pet back to their best in the safest, most efficient manner possible.
